Circus Berlin • Summer Holiday Project 2016 #8

Image
Today was Lilly's first ever time at the circus, and I couldn't have been more proud of her. We visited the Continental Circus Berlin which is currently touring Europe.  I haven't heard of this circus before but I love a trip to the circus and this show certainly did not disappoint.  We arrived an hour before the show and had some 50% off vouchers which made our tickets £3.50 for Lil's and £5 for me, this is for the rear view seats, which was slightly restricted by the pole but we still have a good enought view of everything. The show started with all the performers coming into the ring and dancing around as an inrtoduction.  The first act was jugglers which included two ladies and two men. They were really good and had some nice tricks between them too. The next act was a lady who used an aerial hoop, this was the act that really caught Lil's eyes and she really seemed to enjoy this. There was also a contortionist who managed to shoot a ...

Currently Reading #1 • Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone

Image
I absolutely love reading and lately I have been recording what I am reading and when. I then thought why don't I write it on my blog rather than a piece of paper.  My latest book is Harry Potter and the philosopher's stone. I am reliving my childhood going back through the series and can't wait to relive the next 6 books too.  As some of you may know I am a bit of a potterhead and always go back to the films but have not gone back though the page in a long while, theg have sadly been sitting gathering dust, but no more! I don't read very fast as I usually end up falling asleep in my book so these will be very random. I would love any suggestions to add to my list of 'Must reads' and I hope you like reading what I am reading. xXx

Creating My Dream Blogging Space

Image
I have been blogging for two years now and sadly do not have the room to have a separate blogging space bit still imagine what my space would look like, and often get office envy reading other bloggers posts. I love the idea of just being able to sit down at a desk and write with no distractions around me, like my own little hide away in a loft, with me, my camera, my computer and a cup of tea. I would love to have fresh light colours such as a cream or white for the desk as in my opinion it looks a lot cleaner and can brighten the space up. It would also have to have plenty of storage for chargers, note books and the hundreds of pens, pencils and crayons I have acquired since having Lil's.  The desk pictured below is one that I would certainly consider, this is from  Argos  and looks quite modern with a good amount of storage too. I also love the natural look of the desk, its not too modern and seems very practical, which I think it important. I'v...

Nursery Haul | Family Friday

Image
In about two weeks my baby girl will be starting nursery so I thought I would share all the bits that I have got for her to start nursery. Firstly is her uniform including polo shirts, pinafore, skirt, jumper and cardigans with logo's and other little bits. We also picked up so plimsolls for school shies as I could not find shoes in her size. I have also got her a backpack, lunchbox and beaker. She won't be needing her lunchbox at the moment as she will be doing mornings but it only cost £2. I have also sticked up on snack bits for Lillys backpack for after nursery. Lastly I have picked up extra calpol and tixylix as I know everything will be thrown at her when she first starts. And I also picked up a nit comb so I am prepared for pretty much any situation. I still cannot believe I will have a 3 year old nursery child soon.  xXx

Lydden Hill | King of Drift

Image
To finish our busy weekend we went off to Lydden Hill race track to watch King of Europe drift. It was incredibly hot but we still had a fantastic day and not a but of sunburn in sight.  It was an early start with us getting up and 5am to gat awake and ready and waking Lilly up a 5:45 to get her ready to go. We left a about 6am and got a couple of bits from the shop to wake us up.  The night before (after the carnival) I cooked loads of snack bits to take with us such as pizza, sausage rolls and chicken nuggets but they weren't very appealing at 6am lol. We stopped at MacDonald’s jusy before we got to the race track for a bacon roll and a coffee, Lilly had porridge. We got there very early so we sat in the car for a while and then took a trip around the pits to look at all the cars competing, This is one of the best things about Lydden Hill is that is usually an open pit. Lilly got to sit in a drift car which had pink wheels and a pink roll cage, sa...

Fun day | Punch and Judy and Lots more

Image
It was carnival week last week and we took advantage of the good weather and things going on around us. On Friday we went and saw a live punch and Judy, it was so good and funny, the only shame was is there was no crocodile :( but I spoke you can't have a live crocodile in the show lol. But again it was still good and Lilly enjoyed watching it too munching on her ice lolly.  On the same day there was a fun day on our estate so we enjoyed some music and displays, my mum and dad came up too. Lilly painted a picture and made a couple of clay things.  Lilly also got to sit in a fire engine again, she understood a lot more this time though :). She choose to have her face painted like a butterfly and just before we went in she was building some robots with consortina style arms and legs and strange heads too. It was a nice day in the sunshine and we had lots of fun making and doing. xXx

Our new camera

Image
Last month we took the leap and brought our new camera. We went for the Samsung WB1100F 16.2 megapixal bridge camera with 35x zoom. So far we have been suprisingly pleased with it. We have taken a couple of ventures out just to try out the camera.  You can connect this camera to your phone via an app which is unbelievably simple to use, which means you can share you photos instantly.  It also has photo editing built in. I personally have not tried it but my other half said it was pretty easy to use what it had there.  It also has a burst shot feature which we have not tried yet but will hopefully do soon. These are a few shots we have captured so far. A beautiful, very foggy sunset. Theres usually buildings there. Lol An artistic shot of mine when we first got the camera. This picture is taken pretty much at full zoom from a good 1/2 mile away. I seriously cannot believe how clear this picture is.  I have fal...

Easter crafts

Image
Easter is again upon us so I thought we would have an afternoon of crafts. We had lots of different bits from Peppa pig print outs to DIY decorations I picked up last year. Lilly really enjoyed the variety of things that I got out, and loved the fact that there was more than just colouring. We had things to glue and things to put on. Lilly also like filling the purple egg box with the play eggs, I'm thinking of doing her Easter lunch Iin the box to make it extra special. Lilly loved making her crown the most, glueing the eggs where she wanted them and making  it her own. I am really proud of how long she kept her attention to the crafts. What bits are you doing with your little ones?  xXx

Easter basket 2015

Image
I have done another Easter basket this year for Lilly pops. I love the idea of these and I believe that they make it more exciting for the child themselves. It also means that you can buy other things rather than just chocolate. We have afew of the same things from last year, such as her bouncing bunny, the finger puppets and the personalized egg from  beebies  but we have added some items too So this year we have a very cute drinking cup with chicks and eggs on, it have a swirly straw too and this was from poundland. we then have an Easter book for us to read from  world of books .We then just have a mini Lyndt bunny and a Cadbury's head egg. I really enjoy doing these for Lilly and I hopes she enjoys it too. xXx

My birthday

Image
It's my birthday so no weigh in this week. Just wanted to share a few pictures of my day. My morning started off with my birthday special, some pancakes, with glance cherries and golden syrup with coffee. I never really have anything other than bran flakes so a real treat. My man really knows me, I wasnt expecting anything let alone a yankee candle AND shade. The cande is in the scent lovely kiku and its a glass butterfly shade for a small jar. This was an utterly amazimg surprise and so sweet of him to think of that. These flowers are from my mu, and dad, dyed crythanthimyms in pink, blue and the original white colour, some of the leaves have picked up the dye too. These are so pretty and quite a cool idea beimg dyed. Family photo time, we don't have these very often so when I get the chance in take it, any occasion possible, sadly no smiles from Lilly but it wasn't long before her bedtime.            ...

Bluereef aquarium and Fishermans museum

Image
We had a great family day out at our local aquarium,  Bluereef, we also had a look around the fisherman's museum. Another exciting day to share with you! Lilly was so unsure at first, especially of the big things such as this lobster.  Lilly was a little calmer with these as they kind of have a face from underneath, they kept poking their heads up to say hi as we told her. How strange but cute was this fish, came straight to the glass, looked straight at me and then slowly swam off. So many weird and wonderful sea creatures. My favourite part has to be the tunnel with fish swimming straight above your head including rays and sharks. I could stand there all day long and watch them. Such a beautiful peaceful place The pricing, in my opinion was a little steep costing £23 for three adults booking online, Lilly goes free till aged 4. It only took us 45 minutes to go around and we didnt rush.  Lastly is a rare photo of the thre...

Toddler Tuesday | Lilly's 21 month update.

Image
I am so sorry for the absence. But I have not had it in me to blog or vlog. So Lilly turned 21 months old on Saturday just gone, which means it is now less than three months till her 2nd birthday. She still eats everything and anything but seems to be more hungry, like constantly hungry lol. Fruit and veg are her favourite even before chocolate now. She has started sleeping through about once a week so I get a brilliant nights sleep, just hope that but winter she sleeps through properly which would be amazing. She is still in 12-18 month clothing and a few larger 9-12 t-shirts. She again is in 3.5 shoes almost size 4 but she is definitely growing. So basically she is doing brilliantly in my eyes with everything including speech, playing, singing and just generally being a toddler. Thanks for reading Viki X

Our Easter 2014

Image
HAPPY EASTER I hope you all had a brilliant Easter and got lots of chocolate. As you can see we have all been very spoilt with chocolate, and other bits. we all have a lot of treats to work though. I have also got a few bargains for next year, I know way ahead of myself lol. We started the day off with Lilly looking though her Easter basket, she loved getting all the items out and having a look at them all separately, especially her egg lol, chocolate on the brain.  To finish the day we made some chocolate nests with mini eggs. Lilly loved putting the eggs in, nicking a couple in the process hehe. All in all a lovely day with family, gifts and chocolate. Thanks for reading and a very Happy Easter  Viki x

Style Sunday

Image
It's Sunday again, and time for style Sunday, again I'm in a relaxed, comfy outfit. Today I am wearing a long white top from Sassy, this top is so comfy and love the length. The top also had writing on the back which I cannot remember. I am also wearing F&F jeans in Navy as usual lol. Lilly's outfit today was a Jasper Conran navy blue dress, I put these with a pair of navy blue tights. She also had some purple shoes which are adorable. Sorry the picture isn't great but she wasn't in a picture mood. Thanks for reading. Viki x
