Our Summer Holiday Collage 2018

Image
Well that's another summer holidays over, and what a summer holidays it has been. We have made more memories than I could have even hoped for. Below is just a snippet of our 6 1/2 weeks of fun.  Week 1  (23/07-29/07) Week one was quite a quiet with a trip to the main park with my Dad to Play in the Park, an event run yearly with loads for children of all ages to take part in. other than that we hid a bit from the heatwave. We also went to watch both the Red Arrows and the Battle of Britain Memorial flight in aid of 100 years of RAF. Week 2  (30/07-04/08) This week we joined the summer reading challenge,m which we actually need to finish....opps, its a little harder this year as sadly our local library closed and the nearest one is a 30 minute bus ride away. We also went to play in the park again, just me and Lil's this time. We met Elsa, Anna and some storm troopers too. Lastly we had a lovely meet up with some of the school mummies, it was still so h...

Mummy and Me | August 2017

Image
How is it September already, we have had such a busy month with lots of fun days out and weekend away. The beginning of August we took a trip to Pets and Home for a little workshop, she got to hold two beautiful bunnies and was made up with life. Straight after we headed to our local town for there carnival, my Dad was involved by creating a carousel around his mobility chair. We also wore sailor hats in memory of my Dad's friend and a local man who everyone loves, he used to dress like Popeye and was also able to pull the face too. We have then been on two weekends away in a caravan, at Rural Past Times and also at the Festival of Transport, these are two local events which we are involved in. Lil's had a fair few late nights and two nights dancing with the family. We have made amazing memories and have become closer as a family.  We have a fair few adventures in the this coming month and I seriously cannot wait for all the new experiences and routines that we are...

Cornflakes cakes & Hastings Carnival • Summer Holiday Project 2016 #13

Image
We have been very busy today, full of crafts and baking and ended with a trip to watch our local carnival. We started off with baking, this was about 9:30 I decided to get everything ready so we could enjoy the cakes and take some to Nanny's if we went (which didn't happen). Recipe - 100g Milk Chocolate - 100g Cornflakes - 50g Butter - 2 tbsp Golden Syrup Method 1. Melt butter, chocolate and golden syrup 2. Mix with cornflakes 3. Place mixture in 12x cases 4. Let set in fridge for about an hour After our little baking session I decided to do some crafts with her too. We got loads of paint out with stamps, bottle lids, string, and sponge brushes. We also competed a foam fairy set that we got from poundland a few weeks ago. This was so easy to do except our paint dried out which came with it tl decorate her. At about 3pm we left for the carnival as the parking gets awful during this time on carnival day and the roads through to town clo...

The Postman pat effect | Hastings Carnival

Image
The weather was so hot but it was a fantastic day.  My Dad made a carnival float out of my mum's mobility scooter and turned it into postman pats van. This has taken about 5 months to complete with the finishing touches.  Me and Lilly were part of it too, Lilly dressed as Jess the cat and I was Mrs Goggins (exept the wig almost fell off). My brother was also in th carnival with the old drumming group that I used to be with called Section 5 drummers. How crazy do I look? Lol. But I don't think I made a bad Mrs Goggins. It's also fun to do and we raise a lot of money for local charities. This was one of my favourite, it must have been hot under that dome of his. He was completely in character and was so kind to Lilly with getting her to come over for a photo even with his mentions of 'taking over the world'.  This was such a cool float with swings and bars for the gymnasts to swing on whilst travelling around the ca...

What we've been up to

Image
We have been up to so much lately and thought I'd show you. Firstly was pirate day, this is a yearly tradition in our town and we currently hold the guiness world record for the amount of people dressed as pirates. There are lots of activities and more pirates about than the eye can see. Next was a family fun day on our estate where lilly got her face painted, we held a snake and a frog and also stroked a tortoise and a lizzard. Lilly also sat in a fire engine so was a busy and fun day. Lastly was Hastings carnival in which my Dad did a WW1 inspired float for the 100 year anniversary, so me and Lilly dress in army outfit. Was such a good day and we got lots of cheers. All in all we have been so busy, but it's all fun at the end of the day
