On the 14th of July this year, me and Lilly took part in a World record attempt in our local town. Every year our town celebrates pirate day since getting a World record for the largest gathering of pirates, a huge ammount of 14,231 people dressed as pirates.  This year our town tried to create the worlds biggest human image of a boat, a pirate ship in our case, sadly our attempt was not successful due to there being a last minuite tide change which meant there was not enough room for everyone. Even though we didn't get a second World record for our town we still enjoyed the day with family. My Dad made this wonderful boat around his mobility chair which so many people enjoyed. We had sword fights with each other whiilst waiting too. It is very bizzare to see so many people dressed up though and the experience is surreal. We recently took a trip to the Rare Breeds Centre in Kent, which is a 100 acre farm with so much to do, from pig racing to animal encounters there is something to keep the children entertained all day.  We arrived around 10am and were instantly greeted with the sight of animals, near the car park were a couple of fields with some sheep in and at the entrance to the farm there were a couple of goats. Firstly we took a look into Creepy Crawly World, a room full of insects and reptiles, from trantulas to snakes to lizards, Lil's loved looking at them all but was glad that they were behind glass. We then decided to go to the petting area first which Lils absoloutly love, there were bunny rabbits, guinea pigs and a goat out for the children to say hello to, there are also a few animals in pens around the edge including pigs, more goats, a horse and a donkey. Back in February we visited the beautiful Bodiam Castle, which means that we ticked one of our things off the to do list for this year. Bodiam Castle was built in the 14th century, it is now owned by the National Trust and is open to the public for a tour in its grounds. The outside of the castle looked very intact but cross the moat via the bridge and enter the door, you'll see a completely different situation. most of the inside is ruins now with doorways leading to nowhere all around you. The towers are still together as are some of the areas in the grounds, we enjoyed trying to work out what the rooms could have been. One of the towers at the front was open, we decided that we would take a look, this meant climbing a very narrow spiral staircase with step that reached up to Lils knee's, it was hard work but well worth the view from the top. The second area to climb was at the back of the castle which looked over the village of Bodium, the views were stunning...

On Sunday me and Lilly took a trip to a very cool local event known as Hughie's Supercar Sunday, this is an event that is in memory of a little boy call Hughie who was just 3 years of age when he gained his wings due to a rare brain condition. He was a big supercar fan so every year since his family have put on an amazing event to raise money for charity, this year being the Chestnut Tree House charity. With over100 supercars parked up there was a lot to see, and Lilly was very lucky to be able to sit in three different types of Super cars, a Lamborghini, a Ferrari and a Maclaren. A few of the cars revved there engines to show off them.  There was a cake sale and other fundraising bits to the back of the event for the Chestnut tree house along with many collection buckets. The family also brung there VW FireTruck which has been converted for children to play in and around. I have just read that this event has raised £5,408.12 for the charity, which is amaing. ...

Back in August we were lucky enough to take a trip up to Chessington World of Adventures with the three of us. We were luckily enough to get seats on a community funded project for a coach trip up there. We had such a lovely day so here is our story. Our coach left our town at 9:30 in the morning and we arrives at about 11 am,we first entered the park through the coach end, which is located near the sea life centre and animals, so this is what we first ventured to, there are so many animals there which Lilly had never seen before, she especially loved the giraffes and the penguins. The zoo and sea life centre added more excitement to Lilly's trip as she got to experience so much in one day. We sadly miss some of the animals as the signage wasn't amazing and I am terrible at reading maps, but hopefully next time we will managed to visit those ones too. Last weekend I was lucky enough to travel up to London with Lilly, my Auntie and my uncle to Winter wonderland at Hyde Park. This is a free to enter event in the centre of London which is very family oriented and very festive. There are many rides and attractions for you to see BUT I would advise prebooking for the big attractions online. We arrived at around 2pm and the queue to enter was quite small, we only waited about 5 minutes before we were at the bag check. The staff were so friendly and the atmosphere was electric.  The first thing we did was check out some rides for Lilly (kind of wish we had waited as there were more Christmas themed one further in) and got some hot drinks (hot chocolate)   The children's rides range from £2 - £3 each and the larger rides cost £6,- £8 each. I have been meaning to post this for such a long time but have been in a bit of a funk with blogging, but I am now back and sharing my wonderful experience at the Warner Brothers Studio Tour in London, also known as the Harry Potter Studios. Back in November I got the chance to go to the studios for a late birthday treat from my Mum and Dad, they said that they would pay for tickets to go so I decided to book for The Hogwarts in the Snow experience. I booked for the 2:30 tour which meant that we didn't have to leave to early to get there.  We left home at about 10am giving us plenty of time to get there including extra just in case, we arrived with an hour to spare but got into queue straight away, in which we went though security and entered the lobby.  When entering the lobby we were greeted by a magnificent Christmas tree, cast photos and some of the larger props used in the film series.
