My Christmas Cake | Recipe & Method | 12 days of Blogmas

I have created a 6 inch round Christmas cake for 2016 which is smaller than normal but this time it is just for me and Lilly. I had a few problems on the way like dropping the cake for one, luckily I managed to scoop it back ito the tin and cook for a bit longer to set it. Here is the recipe and method for you all, it's not to late to make one for yourself. Recipe 700g Mixed fruit 25g Ground Almonds 50g Glace cherries 150g Plain flour 1/2 tsp Mixed spice 150g Butter 150g Brown sugar 1/2 Lemon rind and juice 3 Standard eggs 100ml Rum/Brandy/Whisky Method 1 Preheat oven to 200oc/gas mark 6 2 Line sides and bottom of cake tin with double parchment paper 3 Cream butter and sugar until fluffy 4 Beat in eggs one at a time, if starts to curdle add a little flour 5 Add rind and juice of the lemon 6 Mix flour, ground almonds and spice together 7 Toss mixed fruit and cherries into flour 8 Add fruit and flour to other ingredient...

Toad in the Hole | Recipe

I have been really into cooking from scratch more lately, it has been taking my mind off of things and making me feel quite proud of myself. my latest is a family favourite and is now a staple in our house, which I certainly don't mind. I have finally learnt how to create a tasty toad in the hole after learning how to make basic Yorkshire puddings too. This is ridiculously simple to make and I am kicking myself a bit for not trying before. This takes about 45 minutes in total to create with only five main ingredients. This serves 2-3 people easily. Serving suggestion. Recipe - 5-6 Sausages - 140g Plain Flour - 2 Eggs - 175ml Milk - Salt and Pepper - Oil Method 1. Preheat your oven to Gas Mark 7/ 220oC, pour a layer or oil into a roasting tin and place in the oven. 2. Once heated add the sausages and cook for around 15 minutes to brown off. Simple Cupcakes • Recipe and Method

We made some really tasty and simple to make cakes and thought I'd share the recipe with you all. Ingredient's 3 Medium eggs Weight of eggs - Self raising Flour Weight of eggs - Marge Weight of eggs - Sugar Method 1. Preheat oven to 180/gas mark 5 2. Mix marge and sugar together until creamy 3. Add eggs 1 at a time, add a small amount of flour if mixture starts to curdle 4. Sieve flour and add to mixture 5. Place mixture into cupcake cases 6. Cook for 15-20 minutes until spongy to the touch. As you can see they are so simple to make and really yummy to. If you make these let me know :) xXx

Cinnamon and sultana flapjacks

SO today i made some yummy flapjacks with cinnamon and sultanas in. they are really scrummy and not the most unhealthy thing to snack on, so thought I'd pass on the recipe. Ingredients 150g of margarine 100g of brown sugar 250g of oats Variations 1 mashed banana and a tablespoon on peanut butter Handful of sultanas and a teaspoon of cinnamon Handful of coconut, nuts and seeds or 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder Method 1. Gently melt the butter into a saucepan and add the sugar, stir until melted/ mixed together. Add oats and stir well. 2. Add chosen variations or leave blank  if you wish here. 3. Place in lined baking tray and press down till even. 4. Place in a pre heated oven (190°/ Gas mark 5) for 15-20 minutes until golden. 5.
