Learning letters with bath paint

Lilly has been learning about letters at school and is learning how to write her name, so last night I decided to use our bath paint mentioned in my  April favourites  post. We started off with spelling and writing her name on the wall, I wrote it as the bath paint isn't the easiest to use. She seemed to enjoy watching and learning through this so decided to start writing letters on the wall and getting her to tell me what letter it was.  After she told me the letter I got her to try and think of words that begin with that letter which worked really well. Se was able to come up with some words for all the letters I wrote down for her. She did get a little confused with C and K, when I asked her for an animal that began with C she said Kangaroo but I explained as best I could and told her that it was a good try too. The importance of a smear test

Last month I got my first 'invitation' to have the cervical cancer screening, or smear test as it is commonly known. I was a little surprised as I am on 24 but phoned up straight away to book an appointment.  To me this is so inportant as it could potentially save your life. The test takes about 5 minutes, and even though it's unpleasent, in my eyes it's necessary. I am now in tge waiting period for my letrer to say weather or not I am clear of abnormal cells. It can take up to 21 days for the letter after your appointment and you will hear either way.  The nurse that I had was so calming she showed the equipment and explained exactly what she was going to do. She could tell I was nervous but she kept re-assuring me and just telling me to breath and relax. I am so relieved that it is done and hope that everything is ok. Rocky Road | Recipe and Method

I have found a huge liking to rocky road bars, they are so yummy and are perfect for a sweet tooth like me. I also loved making these with Lilly as she could pretty much help me with everything but melting the chocolate.  Recipe 150g Dark chocolate 150g Milk chocolate 100g of any extra items eg. Raisins, Glacé cherries. 200g digestive biscuits, crushed. 180g Mini marshmallows 3tbsp Golden Syrup  125g Butter 50g White chocolate Method 1. Melt the chocolate, butter and golden syrup together in a bowl over a boiling saucepan. 2. Mix the crushed biscuits, cherries and marshmallows in a bowl. 3. Mix the melted chocolate mixture into the bowl and make sure everything is well covered. 4. Place mixture in a lined tin and smooth out. 5. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours Again I will say it is so easy to make and pretty cheap as well and did I forget to mention tasty. xXx
