The First Mother's Day

Image
Today is a bitter sweet one for me but I think it would have been sour if it wasn't for Lilly and me being a Mum myself.  As everyone has meals, sends flowers or leaves a meaningful messages for ther Mothers, but I can't do that this year, I feel slightly robbed, like it's not fair. I want to celebrate my Mum because she was a truly wonderful women who made my world turn, she was my best friend, my agony aunt, my inspiration. I miss her, not just her as a person but her snigger, her wisdom, her smell and her attention. She was always there when I needed her, if me and Liam had argued, when Lilly was born, when our first baby was not meant to be. She was such a kind hearted women who didn't care what anyone thought of her. So Happy Mothers Day to all the Mum's who aren't with us anymore, you are never forgotten and you will always be in our hearts.  Happy Mothers day Mum Love Tick Tock x

A Letter to my Man • 8 Years

Image
To Liam, Today marks the day that we became a couple, we have been together 8 years which is completely crazy and doesn't seem real at all.  We have been on so many adventures and been through so much together, we have experienced first's and grew up together really. I was only 16 at the time.  You have stuck by me through thick and thin and have helped me get through some difficult times in my life. You have been my rock throughout our whole relationship and you have fought for me many times.  I know we don't always see eye to eye but you do mean the world to me and I love you more than you'll ever know. With every argument we have we always come out stronger and work through it.  I am very gratedul for you and what you do for me and Lilly and I am proud of how far you have come as a Dad, you are amazing with her and treat her like a princess. I hope that we continue to grow together and as a family and I hope our future us bright....

Being a carer for my parents

Image
Both my parents have mobility issues and are bithnow in wheelchairs. Since I can remember my Mum has been in a wheelchair due to have a very worn hip joint which she was born with.  When I was in year 9 my Dad's back started to hurt and progressivly got worse to the point where he struggled to get out of bed. I am now classed as a carer to my mum which is important for me, my mum is very stubborn and sometime I have to have a little nag to get her to do things. I don't see my parents in any other way than just my parents, if that makes sense. My Mum is an amazing person who makss me proud every day. Due her lack of mobility she also has other health problems which she can control with tablets and lifestyle changes.  My Dad is still constantly on the go with his veterans and the local carnival which he does every year using his mobility scooter as his base for his structure. He does feel it after he compeltes things but I think it gives him motivation to...

4 ways I cope with anxiety

Image
I have had a year battle with anxiety which turned more servere back in November.    I have had to learn how to cope with my panoc disorder to a point which I can move on with my life and not let it affect my day to day situation.  Four ways that I find that help me a lot are music, exercise, reading and my family.  Music I find music can really help to take your mind off of the situation or feeling that can cause you panic. I keep my music upbeat and happy as I can find slow songs to be difficult to listen to. I try and use song that I can sing along to or dance to with my little one to completely imerse myself within the song. Exercise Excercise is good for you anyway but it can make you feel better within yourself and heighten your endorphins. It also again can take your mind off the situation in hand. I find that short burst exercise routines of youtube can be the most helpful as there is someone kind of there to do it with you....

7 Years together

Image
Seven years ago today me and Liam got together and we were engaged just 3 1/2 months later. we have been through so much since that day 7 years ago and he has always stood by me. We have had more arguements than most, been through a miscarriage and had a successful pregnancy and we have come out the other end stronger each time.  My man means the world to me and has helped me through a lot of grief and with my panic disorder. He works incredibly hard to keep us afloat and always knows how to make us smile.  I don't tell him enough how much we both appreciate him but I hope he knows how much we do.  Seven years down the line and we finally are more settled than any other time. We still argue like cat and dog, we make each other laugh and we are always there for each other. My best friend and future husband. xXx

Valentine's day

Image
Hope all of you had a brilliant Valentine's day. I just had a quite one in with my hubby to be :)  On Friday we watched a film together with a pizza and garlic bread and exchanged presents a few hours early lol. We watched American Pie the reunion which was actually pretty good. I got a beautiful card and a midnight Jasmine Yankee candle as a present, which smells amazing and looks perfect on my bedside table. I was surprised that he got this for me but her knows me too well lol. So for Valentine's dinner we made homemade bolognese with garlic bread and cheese. It wasn't the best but we both ate it. We also watched the voice together and he ran me a nice bath with our hohomemade bath bombs (blog post soon). It was a nice quiet day together and a lovely evening. I hope you all had a fantastic Valentines weather you are with someone or single. xXx

Tales of motherhood

Image
Don't ever take motherhood for granted. Don't let any memory pass you by. Take every opportunity to smile with your child. Play, make mess, take photos, laugh!  I will always miss the struggle of opening your eyes, or the stretching of those tiny fingers. I will miss the sleepy smiles and the first chuckles of play. I will miss your speedy walker and your commando crawl. I will remember your grasp on my finger. I will remember your first taste of food. I will remember your first step alone. I will always remember the 4am feed, the TV programs that melt into one. From casino to house doctor to animal SOS.  Where did my baby go?  Where has this little girl come from?  Cherish  your child. Never take for granted. Enjoy there childhood, they only get one. Love beyond words, and share it with them. Viki X

Lilly update | 18 months

Image
So today Lilly is officially a year and a half! Wow, where has the time gone.  Speech : She learns new words every day, which is lovely :) and is always trying to copy what we say and what people on the telly say. She also knows some animal noises and has started to try and sing bless her. The cutest thing ever. Size : She is in size 4 pull up nappies as she has started asking for the potty and has actually used it a few times. She is in 12-18 month clothing and 3.5 shoes so still very diddy. Food : She eats pretty much everything, usually for breakfast she has porridge or toast, for lunch will usually be sandwiches or bread sticks and cheese and she east what we eat for dinner. Routine : She usually wakes between 6:30 and 7:30am then we play, eat breakfast and get dressed for the day, we then put her for her nap at about 11-12 which lasts up to 2 hours. She then has lunch and we go out or play some more. Dinner...

First scan

So two years ago today was the first time i saw out little girl :) a small little baby on the screen. I remember sitting in the waiting room thinking all these what ifs?  what if there's nothing there? what if it was like before? what if the hearts not beating? the scariest part of my whole pregnancy I think.  But to our amazement and joy a little baby popped up on the screen in front of us. He kept moving the wand over my belly, it was surreal that the baby on the screen was in my belly.  I know the pain of bad news, being told sorry it not going to survive, but the second time was our turn and our little girls turn to be a part of this world.  I believe that I was more grateful for her but more worried through the whole time being pregnant because of my past. For those who have loved and lost, spare a thought. For no matter how long you are pregnant they are still a part of you.  Viki xx...
