Mummy + Me • September 2016

Image
September has been an emotional month for me, my littrle 'baby' girl turned 4! That is so crazy, I am a Mum to a 4 year old! We have had a very busy month all in all, I also celebrated my 25th birthday and Lilly went back to nursery too. Again I didn't get many pictures of us together but this one makes me very happy. It was taken on her birthday on the Safari truck at Port Lympne Animal park.  We had a lovely family day out with just me, Lil's and Liam which is very rare. The weather was lovely but sadly some of the animals were hidden because of that fact. We did get to some some beautiful animals though and had a full day out. She was also spoilt rotton witb all her new toys and clothes that she recieved, a very lucky little girl. September has been a lovely month that I am actually quite sad that it's coming to an end

Cheese Scones • Recipe and method

Image
Another day and another yummy recipe to share with you. I have loved cheese scones since I was little but never actually tried making them before. I found a very simple recipe and tried it out with Lilly. She loved getting messy and we both enjoyed eating them. Firstly preheat your oven to 220°c / gas mark 7 Recipe: 225g Plain flour 2 1/2 Tsp Baking powder 1 pinch of salt 1 pinch of pepper 50g butter (cubed) 125g Cheddar cheese 140ml Milk Extra milk to glaze Method: 1. Place your flour into a mixing bowl and add the baking powder, salt and pepper. 2. Rub your butter into the flour mix until it resembles breadcrumbs. 3. Add your grated cheese and mix into well. 4. Pour in the milk and mix until it creates a dough consistancy. 5. Place the dough onto a floured surface and roll to about 1cm thick. 6. Cut out circular shapes and place on a greased baking tray. 7. Use the remaining dough again to make more. (I only usually roll the dough

Autimn girl • Toddler Outfit of the Day

Image
I am all about Autumn right now and loving the cooler weather and I wanted to share a cute little outfit from Lilly today. Last week I went into morrisons and got Lil's so cute little outfits to kit her out for these cooler months. Both the top and leggings are from the Nutmeg range which has some lovely bits in and I could spend way to much there. Top - Aged 4-5 - £2.50 This caught my eye the moment I entered the aisle, I love the colour and what it says too 'Mummy says I'm purrfect' Legging - Aged 4-5 - £4 I think that these are my favourite ever leggings I have got for Lil's I absolutely love the floral print on rthe light background. Slight quibble, they are a little loose on the way but plenty of room to grow into. Socks - Aldi  Bow - eBay I think that this will be a staple outfit this Autumn as I am a little bit in love with it. x

100 days till Christmas • My Baking Prep

Image
It is 100 days till Christmas which means only one thing, it's time to get the recipe books out and start baking up a storm.  The first thing is the Christmas Cake , my favorite. We start to get the ingredients together now and start the baking in October, this may sound super early to some BUT there is a bit to do after baking and before you can tuck in.  Also in October we start on the mince meat recipe too, so that the mixture can rest for a few weeks. We do make this in huge batches so a batch can last us up to three years :) or mince pies all year round. They are the main bits to get done asap. No we come to December.....the main bulk of the baking is done in this month. We usually make many mince pies to get through, Lilly helps me with there, she rolls out the pastry and fills them with the homemade mince meat too.  to follow on are the  Melted snowman biscuits ,  Candy cane lollies  and gingerbread. These are usually baked/made on the week leading u

Lilly Pops, You're Four

My Lilly, I have found this so hard to write and I don't quite know why. It has been four years since you entered our world in such a dramatic way and I can't quite believe it. I remember sitting there for the first 13 minutes of your life scared to the bottom of my heart, you had decided to come not breathing and needed help for a few minutes. Luckily you were fine and your Daddy got the first big cuddle. You have made our lives so hectic and crazy but I wouldn't change it for the world, because that hectic life is full of playing and learning. Our little family, in my eyes is perfect. I hope that you have had a truely wonderful day and that you know how much we love you. You make me smile sk many times in a day and I instantly feel better. You're turning four today? It certainly doesn't seem possible that it has been so long since you were born, it goes so quickly. Every day you seem to change in some little way which only adds to your amazing

Birthday party and hair cut • Summer Holiday Project 2016

Image
I am finally back im the swing of things and getting back to my project. Today Lilly had a birthday party to go to of one of her nursery friends. I dropped her off and went on my way, which was so strange to do. As some of ypu may know I have never really had any timw without lilly unless I have had appointments or she is at nursery so it was probably nice for her too. While she was at the party I went to get a well needed haircut, it has been well over a year and my hair was so damaged, luckily I went straight in and was im the chair within 10 minutes, not a drastic change at all but healthier. It was nice to relax whilst Lil's was busy and am so happy I got it done then. I picked her up when it was time to find my little girl had her face painted as a princess and she had a bag of sweeties and a Hello Kitty cupcake too. Apparently they played pass the parcel, music statues and had a good old feast by the sounds of it. We have both had a lovely day,
