On the 14th of July this year, me and Lilly took part in a World record attempt in our local town. Every year our town celebrates pirate day since getting a World record for the largest gathering of pirates, a huge ammount of 14,231 people dressed as pirates.  This year our town tried to create the worlds biggest human image of a boat, a pirate ship in our case, sadly our attempt was not successful due to there being a last minuite tide change which meant there was not enough room for everyone. Even though we didn't get a second World record for our town we still enjoyed the day with family. My Dad made this wonderful boat around his mobility chair which so many people enjoyed. We had sword fights with each other whiilst waiting too. It is very bizzare to see so many people dressed up though and the experience is surreal. We have been very busy today, full of crafts and baking and ended with a trip to watch our local carnival. We started off with baking, this was about 9:30 I decided to get everything ready so we could enjoy the cakes and take some to Nanny's if we went (which didn't happen). Recipe - 100g Milk Chocolate - 100g Cornflakes - 50g Butter - 2 tbsp Golden Syrup Method 1. Melt butter, chocolate and golden syrup 2. Mix with cornflakes 3. Place mixture in 12x cases 4. Let set in fridge for about an hour After our little baking session I decided to do some crafts with her too. We got loads of paint out with stamps, bottle lids, string, and sponge brushes. We also competed a foam fairy set that we got from poundland a few weeks ago. This was so easy to do except our paint dried out which came with it tl decorate her. A couple of Sunday's ago just we attended our local Armed Forces Day. This is held in our local park and has lots of different things happening. We arrived about 11 which was sadly after the parade had happened, each year the event starts with a parade of cadets, girl guiding associations, veterans and members from each of the forces, this year there were also so Gurkha's who I sadly missed as they had to go back to base. The first thing Lilly saw was the bouncy castles, they were only little ones but perfect for the event, they only charged £2 for as long as they wanted which I thought was really good. Lil's had a good 15 minutes on these while I spoke to my parents and decided where we would go next. The next thing we went to was to get Lil's face painted, she had been going on about this since I had mentioned that there was going to be face painting there, she asked for a butterfly which she got done, they then offered to do mine too, I had a glit...

I'm sorry there wasn't a blog post yesterday but I wanted to share this on the day of the official opening. Our local pier, Hastings pier has been rebuilt from the ashes.  We visited the pier on the Monday just gone and really enjoyed a couple of hours on there. We had a lovely smoothie from a little drinks shack on there, some chips and curry sauce from the chippy and Lilly had a go on the chareoplanes at the front on the pier, where they have a few rides. The pier was burnt down back in 2010 to just a frame but the fireman saved as much as they could. We as a town could not be more grateful to all those that helped that night. The one fully intact part was the building at the front of the pier that used to be shops. This has been saved and restored into a restaurant and bar. The weather was so hot but it was a fantastic day.  My Dad made a carnival float out of my mum's mobility scooter and turned it into postman pats van. This has taken about 5 months to complete with the finishing touches.  Me and Lilly were part of it too, Lilly dressed as Jess the cat and I was Mrs Goggins (exept the wig almost fell off). My brother was also in th carnival with the old drumming group that I used to be with called Section 5 drummers. How crazy do I look? Lol. But I don't think I made a bad Mrs Goggins. It's also fun to do and we raise a lot of money for local charities. This was one of my favourite, it must have been hot under that dome of his. We have been up to so much lately and thought I'd show you. Firstly was pirate day, this is a yearly tradition in our town and we currently hold the guiness world record for the amount of people dressed as pirates. There are lots of activities and more pirates about than the eye can see. Next was a family fun day on our estate where lilly got her face painted, we held a snake and a frog and also stroked a tortoise and a lizzard. Lilly also sat in a fire engine so was a busy and fun day. Lastly was Hastings carnival in which my Dad did a WW1 inspired float for the 100 year anniversary, so me and Lilly dress in army outfit. Was such a good day and we got lots of cheers. All in all we have been so busy, but it's all fun at the end of the day
