Losing my Mum | 2 months on

Image
I was never expecting to lose my mum at the age of 25, I don't think anyone does, but my mum was always so strong, conquered so much and fought so many illnesses and obstacles that in my head she was invincible. I don't quite know how to process my feelings lately because I know at the end she was very unwell and had a great way of hiding it but she is my mum, I need her so much. She has literally been the person who I have been able to open up to about everything, she was my best friend and my guide. Sometimes I think that I am relieved that she is not in pain anymore but most of the time I hate that she is not around anymore, I will never get a phone call about an ambulance that has rolled in on to there estate or a moan about Dad, I will never watch Lil's hold on to the back of her mobility scooter laughing her head off again. I am so proud of the women who brought me up, she was an incredible lady who touched a lot of hearts and proved a lot of profession...

Toad in the Hole | Recipe

Image
I have been really into cooking from scratch more lately, it has been taking my mind off of things and making me feel quite proud of myself. my latest is a family favourite and is now a staple in our house, which I certainly don't mind. I have finally learnt how to create a tasty toad in the hole after learning how to make basic Yorkshire puddings too. This is ridiculously simple to make and I am kicking myself a bit for not trying before. This takes about 45 minutes in total to create with only five main ingredients. This serves 2-3 people easily. Serving suggestion. Recipe - 5-6 Sausages - 140g Plain Flour - 2 Eggs - 175ml Milk - Salt and Pepper - Oil Method 1. Preheat your oven to Gas Mark 7/ 220oC, pour a layer or oil into a roasting tin and place in the oven. 2. Once heated add the sausages and cook for around 15 minutes to brown off. Whilst the sausages are cooking you can create the batter. 3. Mix the Flour, Salt and Pepper toge...

Mummy Outfit | Family Party

Image
This weekend just gone we were invited to a wedding reception, this was important for me to go to as family seems more important than ever. It was also quite nice to get dressed up and sort myself out for once. The outfit is quite simple but I absolutely love the dress. My dress is from Select, I got it about 2 years ago and have barely worn it, so was nice to get it out and freshen is up a little. I paired the dress with an F&F (Tesco) grey blazer jacket and some deep black tights, also from F&F. I didn't want to go too formal so I think this was perfect for a family party, it was so comfy for the night and made me feel pretty nice. We had a fantastic night and my Lilly pops told me that I looked pretty, that certainly made my day.

Mummy + Me | April 2017

This months Mummy and Me post is a little different because is it about me and my Mummy, There is a reason to this and if you follow me on my social media's then you will know that my Mum passed away a couple of weeks back, so this month is going to be a little bit about this amazing women. This is my Mum, she was and will always be my best friend. She was a true inspiration to me and to may others, she was born without a hip bone, had asthma, diabetes, and a hernia, she had been in a wheelchair for all of my life and a couldn't be more proud of this women. My Mum and my Dad gave me a wonderful childhood, have created many memories for me and made dreams come true. They took me on a mini flight for my 15th birthday, had family holidays every year and even brought tickets for the Harry Potter studios last year for me.  When my Mum was young she was told that she wouldn't walk, work or have children, but my Mum, being the stubborn women she was managed all th...

Mummy + Me | March 2017

Image
How are we at the end of March already? It has been another pretty hard month, sadly my Mum is still in hospital and it just seems to be going on for so long now. The better things this month thought was Mother's Day and Liam's Birthday too. We had a pretty busy day as they both fell on the same day. I travelled to the hospital to see Mum while he went to spend some time with his family. We spent a lovely evening together with a couple of drinks and a few snuggles Lilly seems to have grown and changed so much this month which is making me incredibly broody and wanting to expand our family. Her speech is amazing and she is starting to get a cute little sense of humour, I still can't quite believe she is now 4 1/2 already.

Quirky Lilly #1

Image
I want to remember the quirky little girl that is growing and changing so quickly so am starting this series for that reason. She has such an amazing, caring personality and really does make my world a lot more adventurous and fun. She makes me laugh, gives the most amazing hugs, has such an incredible imagination and is so strong willed. I truely am blessed to have such a wonderful daughter.  - Playing with mine or her own ears when tired - - Saying Breakfuff instead of Breakfast - - Saying mo lawn instead of lawn mower - - Falling asleep in random places like against the bathroom and bedroom door frames stood up and once outside the living room door, and the kitchen -

Mummy Outfit

I have not done an outfit post in a very long time but felt quite comfortable in what I was wearing for once, It was also such a nice day and there was no need for a coat which made me super happy.  Being a Mum I want to be comfy and able to bend with ease but still look nice so I went for this flattering shirt from H&M, its a loose fitting navy blue shirt with polka dots. I fell in love with this instantly and I really do love it. I then went for my usual blue skinny jeans from New Look. I just think that skinny's are the best for keeping the outfit a little less formal.  The boots were from BHS which has no closed but I do love the way they look, feel and have been my most worn shoes since I got them. To complete the outfit I wore a chunky beaded necklace which my gorgeous girl got me foe Mother's day last year. I really think this necklace completes the look so nicely and I love that it is something my girl picked for me all by herself.
