Halloween 2014

Image
I know it's a few days after Halloween but I wanted to share with you what we got up to. We had a fantastic day with lots of different activities to keep Lilly busy.  Firstly we went to Tesco where we got Lilly's face painted as a pumpkin for charity and got a photo taken to. So lots of memories. She sat so still when having her face done, she was amazing. I did Lilly a little Halloween bucket with a few bits in. We had a Peppa pig Halloween sticker book, so biscuits to decorate, so chocolate, and some orange paint for our handprint spider. Lilly decorated her pumpkin biscuit with icing and sugar balls. I helped with the icing but she loved putting the sugar balls onnto the icing. Lilly loves doing handprints so thought I would tie it in with Halloween and made a spider out of them. It's not the best but Lilly enjoyed it and made a lovely mess. Bless her. Lastly we finished off with pumpkin carving. Lilly helped scooped out the...

Potty training time

Image
So I feel in me that Lilly is ready for potty training, she uses the potty al part every day once or twice and now feel that it is time to get the ball rolling. Last week I brought a couple of items to get us on our way, firstly was a pack of 18-14 month briefs, just the cheap and cheerful ones beacuse I know accidents are going to happen. These were only £3 from F&F (Tesco) I then also brought a pack of dry like me. These were on offer at £2 a box. There little pads to go into briefs. I thought these would be good to try out.  Lilly will use the potty mainly before bed, or just after she has woken. I have been rewarding her with lots lf praise and a sticker for her chart to show her how many times she has managed to use it. We have also used a couple of the dry like me, the first time she hated it but the second time was completely different. Both times she has told me to late bless her. She gets so angry and upset at herself. Fingers crossed p...

Toddler books | Bedtime favourites

Image
Reading Lilly her story before bed is a big part of our day, a constant really. So I thought that I would share our favourite books, the ones that Lilly asks for often. Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler our favourites of ours. This is the latest book we have which isn't the same as most of them. The main bit that rhymes is th's song the giant sings through the book. This is quite a sweet story and shows how a little thing can go a long way. The next is a book that most people have heard of, Dear Zoo. ThThis is so good for teaching animals, we also made the animal noises so that Lilly could learn them, she now makes the noises and names the animals as we read through the book. This next book shows a poor mum who just needs a few minutes to herself. I love the way that the children all have there own way of causing trouble. The story is such a cute idea as i can realate to the book as I am sure a lot of other mums can. These are three book that I pretty much know every wor...

Zombie walk | 1066 Walk of the dead

Image
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! Last Saturday was an annual parade called the zombie walk or the walk of the dead. Every year 1066 walk of the dead takes part to raise money for charity, this was our first year at taking part and I will definitely be there next year with plenty more gore. Lilly loved it and by the end was trying to scar people with her silly zombie voice. Below is a selection of pictures from the day.  Not sure why but I really like this photo of when I was getting my make up done One scary lady, even creeps me out. A few of the zombies! Was such an awesome day and was good to know it was for a good cause. Will definetly be better prepared next year and sort out a proper costume to go with the make-up. I hope you all have a wonderful Halloween, whatever ypu may be up to. XxX

Halloween craft for toddlers

Image
So today Lilly did her first ever Halloween craft with me. I was clearing out her craft cupboard I came across a bag of sweet wrappers and thought about something I could make. So here it is, our sweet wrapper pumpkin, quick and simple. You will need: - Some card - Sweet wrappers  - Glue - Scissors - Chalk Firstly draw your pumpkin or other shape onto the card with chalk or light crayon. Next glue the entire shape inside, Lilly did most, I just filled the area in. Next let your little ones stick down the wrappers which match your theme and picture. We used orange and gold for the face and green for the stalk. make sure all the wrappers are secure and glue down amy over laps.    Next is to cut it out and tidy the edges. To make the face I took the corners of the offcut card and got lilly to stick into place with help of pointing out roughly where. So simple and cheap to do. XxX

Toddler OOTD | Autumn

Image
I thought I would share Lilly's beautiful autumn outfit. Both these items are from nutmeg, Morrison's. So very affordable and beautiful clothing for all styles.  She is wearing a pair of navy blue jeggings which pretty much go with everything. These feel very well made and actually look my like jeans. These were £3 a pair. This top is just adorable. I love the picture on the front of the birds making a scarf for the fox or squirrel. Lol. Very autumnal and cheap at just £2 a top. No autumn outfit is complete without some sort of boots. These are her favourite which are her minnie mouse wellies. I actually got given these but by the very faded label it looks like George, asda. Lilly would wear these to bed if she could. Hope you enjoyed XxX

Fbf British Drifting Championship | Lydden Hill

Image
A flash back Friday for you, just back to April when we went to Lydden hill for the weekend to watch The British Drifting Championship. We camped for one night. Lilly loved camping in the tent and jumping on the airbeds, took her a while to get to sleep but she slept like a log. Look at these gorgeous pink cars, the speed they can go to. They looked amazing, and sound really nice too. At Lydden hill they have an open pit, which means you can walk around and look at all the cars. This was one of the best pictures I managed to get of the drifting. Lilly loved watching the cars fly by and got really excited. Shame the first day was a bit of a wash out. Family picture time of course. The second day was a nice day and the track dried out quite quick. I could not tell you who won or anything like that but was a lovely family weekend. XxX

2 year update

Image
I seriously cannot believe Lilly is two years old, really am in shock!  She really does make me proud and surprises me every single day.  Talking She is doing amazingly well with her speech, she is stringing words together to create sentences and is also using words such and delicious and ridiculous in the right places. She has also started to think about her answers before saying things and asks for many different things. Another thing she loves to do is sing her little heart out, theme tunes, nursery rhymes, popular songs and movie songs, its so cute. Eating She has become slightly more fussy with what she east but still eats the majority of things we put infront of her. Sadly Lilly has gone off of pasta which is a shame but she will have soup and bread or fish, sausages, sometimes even a roast dinner. She loves her fruit and sweets and also a huge like are the bears yoyo's which are made of fruit. Sleeping She FINALLY sleeps through and s...

Lilly's 2nd birthday

Image
Lilly second birthday was such a lovely day, surrounded by family and food and laughter. She seemed to thoroughly enjoy her self. Here are a few pictures from her day, she was very spoilt. Me and Daddy got all this sorted the night before so she could walk in and find all of her presents and cards.  She was so excited to open them all, but a bit overwhelmed too. She managed to unwrap all of them, including her cards all by herself. Every time she opened A boxed present she would ask me to open it for her. Over Nanny's she got a little tikes car which she completely loved and didnt stop playing in pretty much up to the start of her party.   When all the family arrived she had many more presents to open and lots of people saying happy birthday to her. She didnt know what was happening. Bless her. She had lots of fun playing and running around with everyone. Even got to go grass surfing.  This was her Minnie mouse birthday ca...

My man really knows me, I wasnt expecting anything let alone a yankee candle AND shade. The cande is in the scent lovely kiku and its a glass butterfly shade for a small jar. This was an utterly amazimg surprise and so sweet of him to think of that. These flowers are from my mu, and dad, dyed crythanthimyms in pink, blue and the original white colour, some of the leaves have picked up the dye too. These are so pretty and quite a cool idea beimg dyed. 2nd Birthday Ideas

Image
This year we actually have a plan and theme. We are hoping to have a family BBQ weather permitting with the theme of Minnie mouse. This is the beautiful cake that Liam is going to attempt to replicate. He is a good cake maker so it shouldn't be too hard. It is a beautiful cake and will looking beautiful as a centre piece to the table. Hopefully she will be able to blow her candles out this year. I rarely use pintrest but now have a board on there specifically for her party now with simple ideas to make it a brilliant party. There are also so many print outs available so will be able to decorate quite easily. I especially like the ketchup and mustard bottles as it is a brilliant idea for out BBQ. We hope that this will be Lillys outfit for her party. We were very lucky to have won a competiton to win a custom dress of our choice. we chose a lilac one like the picture above. I hope this will be with us before her birthday, if not we do have a second outfit we c...

2nd Birthday Presents

Image
Here are the main things that we have brought Lilly for her birthday. We have a few smaller bits too. Firstly is the Peppa Pig cook n play kitchen. This will be her main present, It is battery opperated with sounds and aslo includes utensils and some food. Lilly loves pretend cooking and watching me cook so Liam (Daddy) thought it was perfect for her. Next is the large talking Upsy Daisy from In the night garden, a favourite of Lillys and her favourite character. She has phrases from the show and it also soft enough for her to cuddle in bed if she wished to.  These are the Early learning centre wooden pot and pan set, as you can see it also comes with food and utensils. I thought this was too cute to miss, had it a few months now. She can also learn to cut up the fish as its velcro. Lastly are the pretend and play cupcake set from Sainsburys. These were on offer for like £3 so couldn't resist. I love wooden toys for children as they, in my eyes, ar...

Bluereef aquarium and Fishermans museum

Image
We had a great family day out at our local aquarium,  Bluereef, we also had a look around the fisherman's museum. Another exciting day to share with you! Lilly was so unsure at first, especially of the big things such as this lobster.  Lilly was a little calmer with these as they kind of have a face from underneath, they kept poking their heads up to say hi as we told her. How strange but cute was this fish, came straight to the glass, looked straight at me and then slowly swam off. So many weird and wonderful sea creatures. My favourite part has to be the tunnel with fish swimming straight above your head including rays and sharks. I could stand there all day long and watch them. Such a beautiful peaceful place The pricing, in my opinion was a little steep costing £23 for three adults booking online, Lilly goes free till aged 4. It only took us 45 minutes to go around and we didnt rush.  Lastly is a rare photo of the thre...
