A couple of Sunday's ago just we attended our local Armed Forces Day. This is held in our local park and has lots of different things happening. We arrived about 11 which was sadly after the parade had happened, each year the event starts with a parade of cadets, girl guiding associations, veterans and members from each of the forces, this year there were also so Gurkha's who I sadly missed as they had to go back to base. The first thing Lilly saw was the bouncy castles, they were only little ones but perfect for the event, they only charged £2 for as long as they wanted which I thought was really good. Lil's had a good 15 minutes on these while I spoke to my parents and decided where we would go next. The next thing we went to was to get Lil's face painted, she had been going on about this since I had mentioned that there was going to be face painting there, she asked for a butterfly which she got done, they then offered to do mine too, I had a glit...

I'm sorry there wasn't a blog post yesterday but I wanted to share this on the day of the official opening. Our local pier, Hastings pier has been rebuilt from the ashes.  We visited the pier on the Monday just gone and really enjoyed a couple of hours on there. We had a lovely smoothie from a little drinks shack on there, some chips and curry sauce from the chippy and Lilly had a go on the chareoplanes at the front on the pier, where they have a few rides. The pier was burnt down back in 2010 to just a frame but the fireman saved as much as they could. We as a town could not be more grateful to all those that helped that night. The one fully intact part was the building at the front of the pier that used to be shops. This has been saved and restored into a restaurant and bar. Today me and Lilly went to our local Armed forces day celebration down our main park. There was lots to see and do including displays from local groups and parades, there was also a chairoplane and bouncy castles there and they had stalls and tombolas as well. After the parade we started wandering and managed to catch the military college students pulling the truck along. It took them a while to get it moving but once they had they were fine. They also pushed it back up the field too. Food wise they had a burger van which was really cheap for the food they did, they had a crepes stand which I think is a brilliant idea. They also had an ice cream van which Lilly choose and a sweet stand. They had this cute, original 1950's chairoplane for the children which Lilly was so excited to go on.
