Chocolate Chip Cookes - Recipe

I think we have found the perfect recipes for chocolate chip cookie, these are so soft and taste amazing. and you can also store dough for another day which we have done.  This recipe is a simple on and the dough is so easy to make, Lilly managed to pretty much do these with minimal help. The recipe can make up to 30 cookies and bake in just 8-10 minutes. Recipe: 225g    Plain Flour 150g    Baking Butter, softened (Marge) 80g      Light Brown Sugar 80g      Granulated Sugar 200g    Chocolate Chips 1          Large Egg 2tsp     Vanilla Extract 1/2tps  Bicarbonate of Soda 1/4tsp  Salt Method:  1. Simple Sausage Pasta - Recipe

We have recently discovered sausage pasta, a handy and quick meal which be me and Lilly love. The base recipe was found on BBC Good foods but I have customised it a little to suit us as a family,I hope you enjoy if you make it. This will serve 2-3 people You Will Need: - 4-6 sausages, cut into chunky pieces - 400g Tin of chopped tomatoes - 300g of Short pasta (fusilli or farfalle) - 1 Large onion, chopped - 1 Courgette, sliced - 2 Garlic cloves, crushed or grated - 2 Medium closed cup mushrooms (I cut small to make it a hidden vegetable) - 1/4 tsp chilli powder, mild - 1/2 tps Oregano - 1/2 tps Garlic powder  - Pinch of Salt Method: Start to brown off you sausage pieces in a large frying pan with a little oil. Cook the pasta how the packaging says Once they have started to brown nicely, add the onions, courgette, garlic and mushrooms and soften. Cheese and Potato Bake | Recipe and Method

Today I am sharing a lovely family meal which we all seem to enjoy in this house, it is also pretty simple to make and goes great with quite a few things. We personally serve this with gammon but it goes well with sausages and grill steaks. Me and Lils usually have sweetcorn or broccoli too.  Ingredients 115g Grated Cheese 1 egg 30g Butter 150ml Double Cream 675g Medium/Large potatoes 1 large onion Salt and pepper How to 1. Preheat oven to 180°c/Gas Mark 4.  2. Peel potatoes and slice thinly.  3. Slice onions and soften in butter.  4. Grease a baking dish or we use a loaf tin.  5. Place a layer of potato slices as a base, then add salt and pepper. 6. Next add some of the onions and some of the grated cheese. Save some cheese for the top.  7. Repeat until most/all the potatoes are used.  8. Beat your egg into the cream then pour over the potato layers.  9. Sprinkle with cheese and cook for 1 hour...

Over the Christmas holidays from school I love to keep lils entertained with a lot of baking,  we usually share our makes with family and friends.  This time we have added a very yummy recipe to the list which is Peppermint creams, these were one of my Mums favourite sweets so will now be a tradition to make them in memory of her. This recipe only has 4 ingredients and is so easy to make and requires no baking.  Recipe 400g Icing sugar 1 egg White Juice of half a lemon 1/2 tsp Peppermint extract  Method 1. Beat egg until a foam appears on top.  2. Add a small amount of lemon and mix.  3. Add the icing sugar and stir to form a dough.  4. Add the peppermint extract and stir into the dough 5. Homemade pizza with homemade sauce

I have finally got the homemade pizza down to a tee and wanted to share the recipe for both the pizza dough and the pizza sauce we now use. Both are simple and the sauce makes enough for four pizza's (we freeze three of them). Firstly the dough, you can't use the sauce without a base ready for you, this needs to be made at least 1 hour in advance You will need: 250 ml of Luke Warm Water 7 g of Dried Active Yeast (can get weighed packets from most stores) 1 tsp Salt 1 tsp Sugar 2 tbsp Oil 350 g Strong Bread Flour Stir in the yeast to the warm water, it will normally go quite cloudy. Add the salt, sugar and oil and give it a good stir. Add the flour and mix until it forms a dough. Pout out onto a flour covered worktop and knead for around 7 - 10 minutes. Place in a large bowl and cover with cling film. Place in the fridge for at least an hour,you should see it rise. Sage and Onion Yorkshire Puddings

Welcome back, it's been a whole since I've taken care of my blog, but I feel like I need to share my latest success with you all. The giant sage and onion Yorkshire pudding. In the past we have tried a branded version of these and I wanted to try and create my own, they worked out perfectly and I don't think we will ever go back to the original Yorkshire pudding recipe after trying these. Recipe ( Makes 8 large puddings) 100ml of Milk 2 Large Eggs 100g Plain Flour 1 tsp Dried Sage 1 tps Onion Salt Oil for cooking Method 1. In a large jug mix the milk and egg together well, using a whisk. 2. Slowly add the flour and mix in well until the mixture is completely smooth, it can take a couple of minutes. 3. Add both the onion salt and dried sage to your batter and mix well. 4. Heat a Yorkshire pudding tin with a tablespoon of oil per pudding in the oven 220oC/Gas Mark 7 for about 10-15 minutes. 5. Isn't gingerbread the perfect snack for Christmas, so spicy and taste so yummy. We absolutely love making and decorating these around Christmas. It takes a little while to make the dough but they are well worth it. Here is an easy recipe for you all to follow. Recipe 350g Plain Flour 1 tsp Bicarb of Soda 2 tsps Ground Ginger 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon 125g Butter 175g Light Brown Sugar 1 Medium egg 4 tbsp Golden Syrup Method 1. Sift the flour, bicarb of soda, ginger and cinnamon into a bowl/mixer. Add the butter and mic until it looks like breadcrumbs, then add your sugar. 2. Add your egg and the golden syrup (oil the spoon so it doesn't stick). Mix it all together until it makes a dough. 3. Wrap the dough in clingfilm and put in the fridge for 15-30 mins 4. Candy Cane Lollies | Recipe and Method | 12 Days of Blogmas

Another festive recipe for you all to enjoy, these are so simple to make and taste sooo good. These are Candy Cane Lollies which look amazing (I think). Lilly helped me make these, can you tell which one is hers?  You will need: - Candy canes - White Chocolate - Sprinkes - Lolly sticks - Baking paper Method 1. Cut canes down to size to for a heart shape with 2 canes. 2. Place onto a baking tray covered in baking paper and place a lolly stick in the middle. 3. Melt the chocolate in a bowl over a pan of hot water. 3. Pour melted chocolate into the heart shapes making sure they are full to thr edge  4. Add sprinkles for decoration. 5. I have created a 6 inch round Christmas cake for 2016 which is smaller than normal but this time it is just for me and Lilly. I had a few problems on the way like dropping the cake for one, luckily I managed to scoop it back ito the tin and cook for a bit longer to set it. Here is the recipe and method for you all, it's not to late to make one for yourself. Recipe 700g Mixed fruit 25g Ground Almonds 50g Glace cherries 150g Plain flour 1/2 tsp Mixed spice 150g Butter 150g Brown sugar 1/2 Lemon rind and juice 3 Standard eggs 100ml Rum/Brandy/Whisky Method 1 Preheat oven to 200oc/gas mark 6 2 Line sides and bottom of cake tin with double parchment paper 3 Cream butter and sugar until fluffy 4 Beat in eggs one at a time, if starts to curdle add a little flour 5 Add rind and juice of the lemon 6 Mix flour, ground almonds and spice together 7 Toss mixed fruit and cherries into flour 8 Add fruit and flour to other ingredient...

Yummy Chocolate Cupcakes | Recipe

These cupcakes are so delicious and simple to make, you only need a few ingredients and take 30 minutes. to make and cook. This mixture made 16 - 20 cupcakes. Ingredients Eggs - 3 Medium Eggs Marge  - Weight of Eggs in oz Sugar  - Weight of Eggs in oz Flour - Weight of eggs minus 2oz Drinking Chocolate - 2oz to make up the flour Method 1. Preheat your oven to 180oC / Gas mark 5 2. Cream the sugar and marge together until it resembles whipped cream. 3. Add 1 egg at a time, if starts to curdle add a small amount of the flour. 4. Once all eggs are mixed in slowly sift in the flour and drinking chocolate and slowly mix. 5. Separate your mixture into cupcake cases evenly and place in the oven for 15-20 minutes, until springy to touch. These taste amazing when still warm and when are cooled, they are so easy to make that Lilly pretty much does them herself, they are a great quick bake for a weekend task.

Toad in the Hole | Recipe

I have been really into cooking from scratch more lately, it has been taking my mind off of things and making me feel quite proud of myself. my latest is a family favourite and is now a staple in our house, which I certainly don't mind. I have finally learnt how to create a tasty toad in the hole after learning how to make basic Yorkshire puddings too. This is ridiculously simple to make and I am kicking myself a bit for not trying before. This takes about 45 minutes in total to create with only five main ingredients. This serves 2-3 people easily. Serving suggestion. Recipe - 5-6 Sausages - 140g Plain Flour - 2 Eggs - 175ml Milk - Salt and Pepper - Oil Method 1. Preheat your oven to Gas Mark 7/ 220oC, pour a layer or oil into a roasting tin and place in the oven. 2. Once heated add the sausages and cook for around 15 minutes to brown off. It's pancake day and it may be a little late to share the recipe but its for me as well as for others haha. This year has been a complete success from the pancake aspect of life, if there is such a thing, but I have actually managed to make homemade batter and flip two pancakes all on pancake day, win for me.  To go with this success I wanted to share the recipe that I used today and the method for making them too. I still can't fully believe that it has taken me so long just to make my own instead of buying those silly bottles. Recipe 150g of  Plain flour 2 medium eggs 300ml of milk Oil (for cooking) Method 1. Sieve the plain flour into a bowl and make a well in the centre. 2. Crack both eggs into the well and slowly whisk, drawing the flour from the edges in. 3. Gooey Flapjacks • Recipe and Method

A little simple family recipe for you again, this is for the very tasty and gooey flapjacks. I got a bag of rolled oats from a friend but don't really like using these oats for porridge so found the next best thing.  These are a great little treat to munch on and to create with you little one, Lilly loves to mix the oats in for me.  Recipe 125g of Butter 100g of Brown Sugar 4 tbsp of Golden Syrup 275g Rolled Oats Method 1. Preheat your oven to 180oC/Gas Mark 4 2. Melt the Butter, Sugar and Golden Syrup together over a bain-marie (bowl over boiling pan of water). 3. Mix in oats and stir until all oats are completely covered. 4. Pour the oat mixture into an ovenproof tin lined with baking paper. 5. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes, until golden brown. 6. Homemade mincemeat • Recipe and Method

I know that it is still only October BUT this takes a while to rest and you can't be too prepared for Christmas. This is a simple mincemeat recipe that has been passed down to me and I wanted to share it to you all. The recipe should make about 5-6kg's of mincemeat which can last a few years in jars, it only gets better with age. Recipe 2kgs of Apples 1kg of Currents 750g of Sultanas 750g of Suet 750g of Caster Sugar Rind and Juice of a Lemon 2 tsps of Mixed Spice 2 tsps of Nutmeg Approx 150ml of either Rum, Sherry or Brandy Method 1. Peel, core and slice all the apples. 2. Mince the apples with the sultanas (meat mincers work fine). 3. Add all the other ingredients and mix together well.  4. Separate into jars and lid them (sticker year onto them) 5. Leave at least 3 weeks to stand before using. It is that simple. Please let me know if you use this recipe, I would love to know.

Another day and another yummy recipe to share with you. I have loved cheese scones since I was little but never actually tried making them before. I found a very simple recipe and tried it out with Lilly. She loved getting messy and we both enjoyed eating them. Firstly preheat your oven to 220°c / gas mark 7 Recipe: 225g Plain flour 2 1/2 Tsp Baking powder 1 pinch of salt 1 pinch of pepper 50g butter (cubed) 125g Cheddar cheese 140ml Milk Extra milk to glaze Method: 1. Place your flour into a mixing bowl and add the baking powder, salt and pepper. 2. Rub your butter into the flour mix until it resembles breadcrumbs. 3. Add your grated cheese and mix into well. 4. Pour in the milk and mix until it creates a dough consistancy. 5. Place the dough onto a floured surface and roll to about 1cm thick. 6. Cut out circular shapes and place on a greased baking tray. 7. Cornflakes cakes & Hastings Carnival • Summer Holiday Project 2016 #13

We have been very busy today, full of crafts and baking and ended with a trip to watch our local carnival. We started off with baking, this was about 9:30 I decided to get everything ready so we could enjoy the cakes and take some to Nanny's if we went (which didn't happen). Recipe - 100g Milk Chocolate - 100g Cornflakes - 50g Butter - 2 tbsp Golden Syrup Method 1. Melt butter, chocolate and golden syrup 2. Mix with cornflakes 3. Place mixture in 12x cases 4. Let set in fridge for about an hour After our little baking session I decided to do some crafts with her too. We got loads of paint out with stamps, bottle lids, string, and sponge brushes. We also competed a foam fairy set that we got from poundland a few weeks ago. This was so easy to do except our paint dried out which came with it tl decorate her. Simple Chocolate cake • Recipe and Method

Recently we made a really simple chocolate cake and wanted to share the recipe with you. This recipe has such a small amount of ingredients and is so easy to make but tastes amazing too. Recipe - 50g Dark Chocolate - 50g Butter - 30g Plain Flour - 1tsp Cocoa Powder - 60g Caster Sugar 1 egg Method 1. Preheat your oven to 180°c/ gas mark 5 2. Break chocolate into a glass bowl with butter and place over a boiling saucepan of water to melt. 3. Stir well, remove from heat and leave to cool.  4. Break your egg into a bowl with the sugar and whisk until light and creamy. 5. Slowly add the chocolate to the egg mix and stir well. 6. Sieve in the flour and cocoa and fold in. 7. Put the mixture into a greased shallow cake tin and bake for 25 minutes. This is so easy and a great recipe for a quick and tasty cake, especially to make with your children. xXx

Blogmas day two is a Christmas Cake recipe for you. I make my cake in November to make sure I have time to feed it, but you can just soak the fruit and leave a week before icing the cake. I made a 7 inch square cake to cut in half. and here is the recipe for you all. - 965g Mixed fruit - 50g Ground almonds - 100g Glace cherries - 200g Plain flour - 1tsp Mixed spice - 200g Butter - 200g Brown Sugar - 1 Lemon rind and zest - 4 standard eggs - 100ml rum/brandy/sherry Method - Preheat oven to 200oc/ gas mark 6 - Line sides and bottom of cake tin with double parchment paper - Cream butter and sugar until fluffy - Beat in eggs one at a time, if starts to curdle add a little flour - Add rind and juice of the lemon - Mix flour, ground almonds and spice together - Toss mixed fruit and cherries into flour - Add fruit and flour to other ingredients a little at a time, add half the rum ( or soak the fruit in alcohol overnight) Save some ...

Simple Cupcakes • Recipe and Method

We made some really tasty and simple to make cakes and thought I'd share the recipe with you all. Ingredient's 3 Medium eggs Weight of eggs - Self raising Flour Weight of eggs - Marge Weight of eggs - Sugar Method 1. Preheat oven to 180/gas mark 5 2. Mix marge and sugar together until creamy 3. Add eggs 1 at a time, add a small amount of flour if mixture starts to curdle 4. Sieve flour and add to mixture 5. Place mixture into cupcake cases 6. Rocky Road | Recipe and Method

I have found a huge liking to rocky road bars, they are so yummy and are perfect for a sweet tooth like me. I also loved making these with Lilly as she could pretty much help me with everything but melting the chocolate.  Recipe 150g Dark chocolate 150g Milk chocolate 100g of any extra items eg. Raisins, Glacé cherries. 200g digestive biscuits, crushed. 180g Mini marshmallows 3tbsp Golden Syrup  125g Butter 50g White chocolate Method 1. Melt the chocolate, butter and golden syrup together in a bowl over a boiling saucepan. 2. Mix the crushed biscuits, cherries and marshmallows in a bowl. 3. Mix the melted chocolate mixture into the bowl and make sure everything is well covered. 4. Place mixture in a lined tin and smooth out. 5. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours Again I will say it is so easy to make and pretty cheap as well and did I forget to mention tasty. xXx
