A trip to Jempsons • Summer Holiday Project 2016 #15

Image
We had an afternoon out with my Mum and Dad at Jempsons. This is a really cute little supermarket which is a little bit of a drive away but well worth the drive. My Mum and Dad got me some shopping while we were there. One of the best things about Jempsons is that they have mini trolleys for the little ones. Lil's absolutely loves using these even though she does get a little crazy. We had some lunch in the cafe there too which was nice, Lil's had a giant toasted teacake and I had a jacket potato with cheese. We had a nice catch up woth my parents and sorted out so plans for tomorrow as have to take my Dad somewhere. After we had conpleted the shopping Lilly had a go on both the rides in the doorway, they were £1 for 3 turns on each. It was just a nice way to end the trip. The only issue I had getting there was that I had to follow my Dad out as I had no clue how to get there myself haha. xXx

Toddler outfit of the day | sunshine ☀

Image
Today was a pretty hot day and we had to travel a bit for an appointment so I though that I would put Lilly in a light weight outfit with her hair in pig tails out of the way. Again I thought she looked so cute so had to share it with you. Maybe I'm just biased. Her top is Miniclub from Boots, I believe that I was given this top a while ago but it's certainly something that I would buy outright. Its was quite a stretchy material so gave her a bit of movement. Her leggings are from the Morrison's nutmeg range again, as you can tell I love Nutmeg range lol. These are really cute with the stripes again but I thought the colour was very appropriate for the weather being such bright colours. Lastly are her shoes, I am not sure where they are from as they were given to me from a friend. the shoes have Peppa pig on which Lilly obviously loves, me not so much, but the shoes are really cute and very breathable.  I think her outfit is so cute for this time o...

Easter crafts

Image
Easter is again upon us so I thought we would have an afternoon of crafts. We had lots of different bits from Peppa pig print outs to DIY decorations I picked up last year. Lilly really enjoyed the variety of things that I got out, and loved the fact that there was more than just colouring. We had things to glue and things to put on. Lilly also like filling the purple egg box with the play eggs, I'm thinking of doing her Easter lunch Iin the box to make it extra special. Lilly loved making her crown the most, glueing the eggs where she wanted them and making  it her own. I am really proud of how long she kept her attention to the crafts. What bits are you doing with your little ones?  xXx

Lilly's 2nd birthday

Image
Lilly second birthday was such a lovely day, surrounded by family and food and laughter. She seemed to thoroughly enjoy her self. Here are a few pictures from her day, she was very spoilt. Me and Daddy got all this sorted the night before so she could walk in and find all of her presents and cards.  She was so excited to open them all, but a bit overwhelmed too. She managed to unwrap all of them, including her cards all by herself. Every time she opened A boxed present she would ask me to open it for her. Over Nanny's she got a little tikes car which she completely loved and didnt stop playing in pretty much up to the start of her party.   When all the family arrived she had many more presents to open and lots of people saying happy birthday to her. She didnt know what was happening. Bless her. She had lots of fun playing and running around with everyone. Even got to go grass surfing.  This was her Minnie mouse birthday ca...

2nd Birthday Presents

Image
Here are the main things that we have brought Lilly for her birthday. We have a few smaller bits too. Firstly is the Peppa Pig cook n play kitchen. This will be her main present, It is battery opperated with sounds and aslo includes utensils and some food. Lilly loves pretend cooking and watching me cook so Liam (Daddy) thought it was perfect for her. Next is the large talking Upsy Daisy from In the night garden, a favourite of Lillys and her favourite character. She has phrases from the show and it also soft enough for her to cuddle in bed if she wished to.  These are the Early learning centre wooden pot and pan set, as you can see it also comes with food and utensils. I thought this was too cute to miss, had it a few months now. She can also learn to cut up the fish as its velcro. Lastly are the pretend and play cupcake set from Sainsburys. These were on offer for like £3 so couldn't resist. I love wooden toys for children as they, in my eyes, ar...

Toddler Tuesday | Toddler Apps.

Image
It's hard keeping toddlers amused. So here are a few apps we used on our android tab.  Toddler counting 1 2 3     This soon is brilliant. You get a picture to click which then speaks the numbers, spells the numbers and shows the number too. Lilly loves talking along to the numbers and tapping the screen. Peppa pig's paint box      A lovely arty soon with painting, stickers, sounds and pictures to colour in and add to. Lilly loves being able to choose what character she can draw with and loves copying the noises. Cbeebies playtime      This app has many games for children from I'd say 18 months up. Drawing, popping bubbles, and more activity games too. Lilly enjoys the drawing games and the popping bubble games. She has her own profile on so it is brilliant for families with more than one child. I hope this is insightful for you. And help you choose some good apps for your toddler.

Toddler Tuesday | Our Fav books

Image
So I thought I would do a few weekly blogs for you. This one is toddler Tuesday. Here are mine and Lilly's favourite books to read together. Firstly is a rhyming book from Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. This is a book of searching thought furniture (flaps) for Mr fox's missing socks. Lilly loves lifting the flaps and it's such an easy read, especially with its rhymes.  Secondly I am going to mention a classic book, The very hungry caterpillar. This was a favourite of mine when I was young and just had to get it for Lilly. It teaches about how butterfly's are made too which I like. Lilly loves the pictures and pointing out the food she knows. Next is an Osborne touchy-feely book. That's not my monkey. Lilly loves monkeys anyway so this is always a winner, she likes to feel the different textures and point out body parts. One let down for me is the last monkey looks like he has a beard rather than a fluffy belly. lol L...
