Lilly,     Today was your last ever day at nursery, how can this be? You have been there two years, had four incredible key workers over that time and have been a real super star by taking everything in your stride. You have grown so much in more ways than one, you can write so many letters and are starting to try and read, which makes me swell with pride.     The day you started, the day after your 3rd birthday was so scary for me, for the letting go of the child I have never been apart from. You did amazing from the start, not even a turn back after a week, ever since you have got more confident by the day and are so ready to start your new adventure.    I now have 8 weeks to make memories with you until you start in reception, until you are away from me for a whole 6 hours a day. Lately Lilly has been coming out with the idea that she can't play with something because 'It's for boys' and this really gets to me. She has always loved her toy cars and we have always let her play with them, it keeps her entertained for ages but lately she has been reluctant to play with them. We then asked her why this was and she told us that she didn't want to play with them as they are boys toys.....I was so shocked and upset for her to think that. Another time she has mentioned this is after nursery one day. She had been playing with babies (as usual) and told me that one of the boys wanted to play with them too, she told me that she didn't think that he should of because he was a boy and dolls are for girls. both times I have explained to her that she mustn't think like this, I hate gender prejudice and I didn't think that I would have to deal with explaining to her at such a young age (only 4). I will always let my daughter play with...

September has been an emotional month for me, my littrle 'baby' girl turned 4! That is so crazy, I am a Mum to a 4 year old! We have had a very busy month all in all, I also celebrated my 25th birthday and Lilly went back to nursery too. Again I didn't get many pictures of us together but this one makes me very happy. It was taken on her birthday on the Safari truck at Port Lympne Animal park.  We had a lovely family day out with just me, Lil's and Liam which is very rare. The weather was lovely but sadly some of the animals were hidden because of that fact. We did get to some some beautiful animals though and had a full day out. She was also spoilt rotton witb all her new toys and clothes that she recieved, a very lucky little girl. September has been a lovely month that I am actually quite sad that it's coming to an end

2nd Year of Nursery

I love doong sensory play with Lilly and this is one that we have dine recently, cornflour slime. This is so cool and so easy to make, it is also quite easy to clean up too. You will need - Cornflour - Water - Food colouring (extra) All you do to make the slime is put some conflour onto a tray or plate and slowly add  a little water, mix together until it forms a thin paste. You can add the food colouring here if you wish. I love this myself as it kind of forms a solid when being played with but will settle as a liquid. We like to make a fountain of our hands and let the liquid form run through oir fingers.  This is a brilliant messy play for toddler and you could always add bits to teach things or we have used to put over toy animals in the past to learn what certain aninals look like. It's also a great way in introduce the idea of solids and liquids to them I love doing this messy play with her and she absolutely loves it....

Lilly has been learning about letters at school and is learning how to write her name, so last night I decided to use our bath paint mentioned in my  April favourites  post. We started off with spelling and writing her name on the wall, I wrote it as the bath paint isn't the easiest to use. She seemed to enjoy watching and learning through this so decided to start writing letters on the wall and getting her to tell me what letter it was.  After she told me the letter I got her to try and think of words that begin with that letter which worked really well. Se was able to come up with some words for all the letters I wrote down for her. She did get a little confused with C and K, when I asked her for an animal that began with C she said Kangaroo but I explained as best I could and told her that it was a good try too. We have had a pretty uneventful week but I took a few pictures. First up I decided that it was time to get ready for Easter, so I brought some Easter decorations for Lil's window. On Thursday it was the day for Lil's nursery to dress up for Sports Relief. They had to wear red and obviously we didn't have any. Luckily my Mum came to the rescue woth two cute red cardigans from Sainsbury's which I paired with the  Mini club floral tunic  and a blue pair of tights. And her school shoes. Lastly from today, it has become a yearly tradition to watch the runners of the Hastings half marathon from Lilly's Great Grandma's house. This year we saw so many people dressed up, a man running the whole thing backwards and some very fast runners doing a 13.1 miles run in just over an hour. Crazy. We have had a lovley week and finished it with a quick drive through the countryside on the first Spring day of the year.  xXx 

I have just realized that I never wrote a post about Lilly pops at 3. I still really cannot believe that she has been in our life three years. Food Lilly still loves her food and certainly isn't fussy like her Daddy. For breakfast she usually has cereal but does like toast and porridge too. For lunch she will usually have a sandwich of some sort and some fruit to go with it, then for dinner she'll pretty much eat anything, her favourite is pasta and cheese. Lilly loves her vegetables and fruit and also loves sweeties to (but what child doesn't) Speech She talks so much telling us about her day and about her friends from nursery. She asks questions about everything and says 'No' a lot. She can count from 1-19 and them gets confused. Lilly also loves to sing nursery rhymes and theme songs and also attempts to song the alphabet. Sizes Lilly is now in size 3-4 as she seems to have grown so much in the last few months, especially in height. ...

This post really wants to make me cry knowing that my little girl is growing up and making her own adventures now. Yesterday was my little girls first settle in day at nursery and I was so proud how she did. Lilly looked so smart in her uniform and couldn't wait to get going when she was dressed. We left at 8 to get the bus down because the weather was awful, windy and raining so hopefully Thursday is better so I can do a full school run walking.  We arrived and I found her peg to put her bag and coat on, then watched her toddle off to play. I said goodbye to her and gave her a cuddle then left her to it. I felt absolutely lost without when walking back to the bus stop and it felt so strange to step on a bus and being able to choose my own seat. When I got back, I couldn't settle at all, I kept clock watching. I managed to get all the housework done and sti have an hour to wait. In about two weeks my baby girl will be starting nursery so I thought I would share all the bits that I have got for her to start nursery. Firstly is her uniform including polo shirts, pinafore, skirt, jumper and cardigans with logo's and other little bits. We also picked up so plimsolls for school shies as I could not find shoes in her size. I have also got her a backpack, lunchbox and beaker. She won't be needing her lunchbox at the moment as she will be doing mornings but it only cost £2. I have also sticked up on snack bits for Lillys backpack for after nursery. Lastly I have picked up extra calpol and tixylix as I know everything will be thrown at her when she first starts. And I also picked up a nit comb so I am prepared for pretty much any situation. I still cannot believe I will have a 3 year old nursery child soon.  xXx
